                                                     President Harry Powell

I'm sure I'll master the A/V that I'm supposed to use but it appeared to be possessed on
Monday night and knowing Ian's sense of humour like I do I wasn't 100% certain he wasn't
having a bit of fun and playing a practical joke !!
Anyway I'm sure I'll improve and maybe this time next year I'll finally get it right. Maybe.

I helped out at the Bunnings BBQ on Tuesday which I thoroughly enjoyed. Not only do you
get the opportunity to eat all the reject sausages but you get the have some fun as well. Barry
was the primary chef with me assisting him and doing a short stint when he needed a break.
Mary-Anne bossed us all around but in an incredibly nice way, Alison ran the till and yelled
out the orders and Vicki and Shannon prepped the slices of bread and serviettes. David
Wright is a legend - he brought most of the gear and helped us set up, awesome. We made
$1,659.78 on the day which I thought was a pretty good effort and will be a valuable
contribution to our fundraising efforts. I'm definitely doing the next one if possible and I
would encourage all of you to give it a go as well.

The next major club event is the Nambour Garden Show Parking starting next Thursday, Ian
has run this more times than he can remember and has it down pat, same as the BBQ, not
hard work and plenty of fellowship so please put him out of his misery and add you name to
        the roster.

Kevan and I have a handover scheduled for Monday before the meeting so you will have a
new Secretary - at last as some of you are probably thinking. Kevan will do a great job but it
will take him a while to settle in to the role so be gentle please.

        Next Club Meeting
The next Club meeting 06 Jul 2026

Our next club meeting will be held at the Mooloolaba Bowls Club. The guest speaker will be
Sarah Kickhefer, Business Support Officer and Melanie Bruhn Executive Director, Cittamani
Hospice who will be talking on Cittamani Hospice .

Cittamani Hospice Service provides professional palliative care to people who are dying and
their families. We offer compassionate care and honour clients' individual choices. We aim
to provide the highest quality service from the time of diagnosis through to the bereavement
period. Our belief is that this service is best provided in a healthy and supportive community
where death, dying and bereavement are openly discussed and accepted. The promotion of
healthy dying requires terminally ill adults and children to have a choice in where and how
they spend their remaining life. To support this choice a range of inpatient and community
services are required to ensure continuity of care. The availability of knowledgeable
networks of community members is vital to the success of this process.
