                                               President Sandra Harrington

Congratulations to Som-Ling for staying the course and facing the challenges in getting the
Dental Clinic in Kirakira almost up and running. Recently the power has been connected and
air conditioners installed and gassed. For this to happen the contractor had to come by ship
because the gassing equipment could not travel in the plane. She is now waiting for the
dental technician to arrive to connect the dental equipment. It has taken ten years to get to
this point, and it is thanks to the resilience and determination of Som-Ling. Once the clinic
becomes operational it will be the only functioning dental clinic serving a population of
        around 50,000 people
Som-Ling stated that "Rotary provided the network that connected people together and
made it possible to solve problems one step at a time." Rotarians should be proud of the
assistance they have given Som-Ling through donations, shipping and support. Som-Ling,
Mooloolaba Rotary is especially proud and thank you for your efforts.

A reminder that Nambour Rotary is seeking help during the Sunshine Coast Show 11-14
June between the hours of 9 am and 7 pm. Names can be placed on the roster in the next
week and I can pass on names and times that members are able to assist for 2, 3 or 4 hours to
Steve Morrison. People can select to be allocated to the following duties - counter,
pies/cakes, hot food, grill, roll preparation and back of house. A roster for assisting with
parking at the Garden Show in July are also soon be available.
