A relatively quiet week Rotary-wise for me this week, perhaps the most significant thing that
happened was the Community Committee deciding to defer the Lift the Lid walk by two
weeks to the 11th October for a whole host of very good reasons. As our major fundraiser for
the year we need to get it right and with David Wright at the helm ably assisted by his
committee I’m sure we will.

I’m off to Norfolk Island next week for a holiday so IPP Sandra will stand in for me at the
17th August meeting, thanks Sandra.

Next week is also a Board Meeting via Zoom on Tuesday night and Equine Therapy on
Wednesday. I think Lyn Epps has the numbers she needs but if not please support her if she
asks. Syd Shilling is looking for support for the Nurture Festival on Saturday 5th September,
please also support him by putting your name against the Calendar event or simply telling
him yourself.

August is Membership month and you may have noticed a couple of signs that Errol and his
committee have organised and Errol has spoken about at meetings. Please take a minute to
think about the people you interact with who would make good Rotarians and nominate them
to give them the opportunity of joining Rotary. If you don’t know how to nominate someone
just ask Errol.

The next Club meeting 10 Aug 2026

Our next club meeting will be held at the Mooloolaba Bowls Club. The guest speaker will be
the Firefly Education team who will be talking on Educational resources donated for Pacific
Island communities.
