The presentation last week by Kat May and Michael Williamson from STEPS was engaging,
heart-warming and informative. In their recent Newsletter the Boarding College provided

news of their recent Winter Ball where the night raised $31000 for the STEPS Pathways
College. Students were assisted to purchase glamorous outfits, and the girls were treated to
hair and makeup appointments. Students are provided with curriculum that focuses on Life
Skills and preparation for employment through their Café and Nursery. Students and
families find a place to belong, to grow and to be inspired. Well done to the team and I
hope we can visit soon to see the College in action.

Congratulations to the winners of our Melbourne Cup Sweep. Special thanks to John for
organising so quickly and so efficiently. $150 was available to the Club once prize money
had been allocated. Also, a big thank you to Ratna for preparing a delicious Nepalese dinner

for us to share. The funds raised will be used to support the education of young people in
Ratna's home district of Nepal. Thank you to Vicki for generously sharing her house for the
        occasion.

Well done to Rotarians who helped at the BBQ for Surf for Kids - a charitable organisation
dedicated to supporting children and their families facing challenges and hardship due to
disability and mental health. We should be proud of Mooloolaba Rotary and its contribution
to communities, organisations and individuals. Sandra Harrington.
